OVERVIEW

Amidst rapid social change, the second Social Innovation Lab project, organized by the Princess Al Anoud Charitable Foundation in collaboration with Rains, concluded. The project brought together more than 300 participants from diverse backgrounds to develop innovative solutions to social challenges. The project included workshops and interactive sessions led by experts to help participants understand problems and generate new ideas. In the prototyping phase, participants developed prototypes of their projects and tested them in the market to gather feedback. The project resulted in a positive shift in the participants’ mindset, enhancing their understanding of challenges and acquiring new skills.

Workshops and interactive sessions were held to identify the social challenges facing the community. These sessions were led by a group of experts and specialists who helped participants understand the roots of the problems and identify the areas most in need of innovation.In the idea building stageParticipants were divided into small teams where they began brainstorming and developing new solutions. These teams used design thinking techniques and innovation tools to solve problems, allowing them to explore new and creative ideas.As was done in the prototyping stageDeveloping prototypes of their projects, working on introducing them to the market, verifying customer needs for these ideas, and obtaining feedback. This phase involved using simple materials and advanced techniques to embody ideas and transform them into workable models. The project’s impact was not limited to the innovations developed; it also extended to a positive change in the mindset of the participants. They gained a deeper understanding of social challenges and how to address them in innovative ways. They acquired new skills in teamwork, creative thinking, and prototype development.
