OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Renz Foundation, organized the “Our Language, Our Identity Hackathon.” This hackathon was not just a traditional technical gathering; it was an exceptional opportunity for young men and women from various disciplines to meet and share their innovative ideas aimed at enriching Arabic content. More than 150 participants participated in the hackathon, all striving to achieve one goal: developing creative solutions that enhance Arab cultural identity in the digital age.

Presented solution

Reins managed the hackathon professionally, providing the necessary services to ensure a successful hackathon through an integrated team of mentors, facilitators, and trainers. Effective management included coordinating the project phases, setting goals, providing technical and advisory support to participants, and systematically evaluating ideas to ensure the desired results were achieved.

Impact

The “Our Language, Our Identity” hackathon yielded more than 18 high-quality innovative projects. More than 150 participants from various government and private entities, including King Faisal University, Apple Academy, Tuwaiq Academy, Aquaf Association, and others, participated in the event. All submitted ideas were distinguished by their high level of innovation and quality, prompting the Ministry of Culture to fully embrace them. This is a clear indication of the hackathon’s efficient management and organization, and its success in achieving its objectives.

The Our Language Is Our Identity Hackathon saw the submission of 18 innovative projects, five of which were supported to reach advanced stages.

One of the most prominent supported projects was an application for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

95% of participants in the “Our Language, Our Identity” hackathon reported that they acquired new skills and increased their confidence in innovation.

Building on the success of the first edition, a new edition of the Our Language Is Our Identity Hackathon is currently being prepared.

The new edition will aim to promote cultural identity in cooperation with academic and governmental bodies.
